Checklists?
Vinyl Buying Checklist Download our Vinyl flooring buying checklist, so you know what questions to ask at your local
floor store.
Your new vinyl floor isn't complete without its accessories. Proper underlayment and adhesives will help your vinyl look and perform its
very best.
Underlayment
A smooth and solid underlayment is necessary with vinyl floors. Without an underlayment, any imperfections in the
sub-floor would show through vinyl's flexibility. Typically the two types of underlayment recommended for vinyl are hardboard
and plywood.
Adhesive (Glue)
In most cases an adhesive (glue) will be needed to install your vinyl flooring. The adhesive should also contain a
sealant for built in moisture protection. Make sure the adhesive is recommended for your type of vinyl as adhesives made for
homogeneous vinyl will not work with residential vinyl tiles, and vice versa.
