What type of finish is used? |
Penetrating: Includes sealers, resins and oil finishes which work by soaking into the wood and giving
it a permanent color. Surface: Includes urethane, varnish, lacquer, epoxy, acrylic, shellac and wax
which are layered over your hardwood floor like paint. |

Can the flooring be sanded and refinished? If so, how many times? |
Solid hardwood can usually be refinished more times than an engineered. Will you really be refinishing that many
times? |

Is the hardwood sealed on all four sides? |
This prevents moisture damage. Ask your salesperson to show you this. |

What is the level of VOC's released? |
Purchase flooring that meets E1 Safety & Emission Standards. |

Is this preferred for a DIY installation? |
Ask for DIY instructions. These can also be found in our installation instructions. |

What does the Manufacturer's Warranty cover and how long does it last? |
Look for a warranty accompanied by a large US company backing the product. If you find a cheap warranty from a private
labeled product without a big US presence,
be cautious. Read the fine print! |

- Large or small/private label?

Rare products may take longer to ship. Ask your salesperson to check stock with the distributor. Normally you can order

Find out penalties, fees and stipulations for returning. Can you return extra hardwood? |

What is the lead time before I can have this completely installed? |
Consider factors such as ordering the product, waiting for arrival, acclimatization and installation. |
