checkbox for checklist How durable is this product in relation to others vinyl? Factors that determine durability are:
Core: Denser cores can handle more wear and tear.
Construction:
  • Homogeneous/Solid: Uniform composition and structure with no added backing.
  • Inlaid Sheet Vinyl: Granules stenciled onto a backing and heated.
  • Layered Composite Sheet Vinyl: Composed of a felt or vinyl backing, a layer of liquid PVC and filler, a decorative layer and a transparent wear layer.
Backing: Thicker backings telegraph less subfloor imperfections.
Wear Layer: Thicker wear layers offer more protection.
Pattern and Color Printing: For Inlaid Vinyl, colors all the way through making it wear resistant. For Printed Vinyl, the color is printed on the surface and a urethane wear layer is added to help it last longer and maintain the print.

Urethane (PVC): Resists scrapes, scuffs, heel marks and stains.
Enhanced urethane: Most durable and very stain resistant.
