Nora® is a rubber flooring company with headquarters in Weinheim, Germany. The U.S. subsidiary, nora systems, Inc.
develops, produces and markets resilient rubber flooring in the U.S. under the brand name of the parent company. Nora has
been a world leader in rubber flooring for over five decades now.
The parent company commenced operations in the 1930s manufacturing rubber sleeve gaskets and shoe soles under the original
name of Freudenberg. The name nora as it is known today is a Latin derivative of the chemist Dr. Walter Nürnberger's name
under whose responsibility rubber shoe soles were developed at the time. Since those early days, many applications have since
been found for the use of rubber and its byproducts.
Since 1949 the new name of the company has been in use for the freshly developed business of manufacturing rubber floor
coverings. In the sixty years since, nora has developed some of the most innovative rubber floorings the world has seen. The
company is uncompromising in quality assurance.
The initial line of manufacture was rubber flooring rolls which was followed by rubber floor tiles. Later the product
range was expanded to granular designs and hammered surfaces. Today nora systems has a standard range of over 300 different
types of designs, colors and surfaces.
In addition to standard flooring, nora systems manufactures flooring for special applications such as:
- Oil and grease–resistant flooring.

- Sound absorption flooring up to 20 dB footfalls.
- Extreme wear floor coverings.
