Looking for an online room designer to help you design your room? With Shaw Floor’s "Try on a Floor" room designer tool, you can design your room online, including details such as flooring, wall and trim paint colors, and more. From bathrooms to bedrooms and kitchens to living rooms, whether you are planning the design for rooms in a new home, or redesigning rooms that have already been furnished, this tool can save you time and money in the long–run as you can see what your room will look like before spending a dime. In this article, we will walk you through using Shaw’s virtual room designer, showing you just how easy it is to design your room online for free.

  1. To begin using Shaw Floor’s "Try on a Floor" room designer tool, you first need to complete a quick registration form which can be done in under a minute. Once you have registered and signed in, you are ready to start uploading photos and designing rooms.
  2. If you haven’t already taken a picture of the room you have chosen to design, now is the time to do so. Make sure your room picture clearly shows both floor areas and wall areas as you can design both of these to your specifications.
  3. Next, you upload your picture into Shaw’s room designer tool. If you don’t have a picture of your room available, you can choose from Shaw’s sample rooms and design your room that way.
  4. Next, using the room designer tools, you will map out your floor area in your room’s picture. This prepares the tool to allow you to select new floors by telling it exactly where you floor is in the picture and how it lays.
  5. After your floor area has been mapped out, you can do the same for your walls, cabinets, and other objects in the room that you want to change the paint color of. This will allow you to not only design your room’s floor coverings, but also cabinets, wall and trim paint colors, and more.
  6. Once your room has been mapped out using the room designer tools, you are ready to customize your room. This is where the fun begins. You can try on new flooring such as ceramic tile, hardwood, laminate, and carpet and also choose from tons of popular paint colors for your walls, cabinets, and other areas that you have mapped out. The best part is that you don’t have to spend a dime to see what looks great in your room.
  7. Once your room has been designed with your favorite paint colors, flooring, cabinets, and other design features, you can choose to save, email, or print your room design and use this design guide when you are ready to shop. This will make it easy for retailers to help you select the right flooring, paint, trims, cabinets, and other items in your room.

That’s pretty much all there is to it! Using Shaw’s "Try on a Floor" room designer, it’s never been easier to design your room before you even set foot into your flooring retailer or home improvement store.

Try on a Floor-Or a wall OR N-E-THING! :)
Ya. I am positive that I am in love. This is really helpful. I have three different paints, they have been sitting in my garage, on the floor for months. Hate the colors. Wish I would have used a virtual room designer (if I knew it existed!!!) I used both. Shaw's virtual room designer - by far most awesome! I love how I can use my pictures.... its great! :) I also love this one because of the great rooms to pick from... really stylish.. I want the same toilettes you have in the bathroom option. "Is this where amazing happens!!! "?? HAHA
