I really love thick, lush carpet but I have terrible allergies. What is the best carpet to buy and the best cleaning products to use? Anything you can tell me to keep the carpet from agitating my allergies is appreciated!

Synthetic fibers are better for allergies than natural fibers like wool. Vacuum frequently and steam clean when needed to keep carpets clean. You may want to use a dehumidifier if you are in a humid climate as well.

You also may want to consider a vaccum with a Heppa filter. It is stated that it will remove up to 99% of dust and allergens.

Also, check the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) stats that should be on the label.
