Is it true that vinyl can contain and release VOC into the air and aggravate allergies?

RE: vinyl and VOCs
ecogirl, The natural moisture resistance of vinyl means that these floors are less allergenic than other types of flooring. The release of VOC's are strictly regulated in the production of vinyl products. It is always a good idea to vent your home for a period of time after installation of any new flooring.
