What types of rugs are the most durable and are safe for almost all floors?

Just don't use a rubber backed mat or anything with an abrasive backing.

Unfortunately, durability is usually side by side with price. Higher quality rugs, like hand knotted ones are extremely expensive.

it also depends on what type of fiber is used. Silk, for example, is very expensive and can be over $50 per square foot.

Silk rugs cleaning requires a bit of care, but can be done at home.Maybe a fiber blend rug is your thing, wool and silk rugs as well as cotton and silk rugs are viable options for you.Oriental silk rugs are an investment, and maybe one you decide on.
