If a regular cleaning is not restoring shine, your floors probably could use another layer of finish. Don’t use cleaning products that will leave behind a residue to try and shine the floor.

I have always had success mopping with a very light spray of a vinegar/water mixture.  It leaves a great shine and I have never noticed any advserse effects to my flooring.
