Hey everyone,

I did something stupid and i'm hoping you can help me undo it!  I used furniture polish on the floor.  It looks great but its way too slippery.  How can I remove this without damaging the floor?

RE: used furniture polish on hardwood floors
Try an area that is small and hidden such as a closet or in the corner. You can try and use mineral spirits in this area by applying to a rag. My opinion is that this is going to smell horrible and you will have to air the house out. It will also dull the floor finish and you will need to fix after that. The best thing to do is going to be to have a flooring professional come and "screen and coat" your floors. This is less expensive then a total sand and refinish, but it is probably what has to happen.

Thanks for the info Mrskosha.  I think my floors could probably use a good screen and coat anyways.  I'm going to go ahead and hire a pro to do the job.
