protect laminate during move?

We are moving into our house and will be sliding several large pieces of furniture and appliances across our laminate. What is the best way to protect it from damage?

I would use furniture gliders that fit under the legs or wherever the furniture touches the floor. I have used them many times and they are a life saver.

Michael's idea works, or lay a sheet or large area rug down.

I also agree with thecorkguy. If using a rug, I would flip it upside down so that it glides smoothly across the floor.
