How do I know if I am buying cork that emits toxins?

The VOC info should be posted on the product.

Cork parquet was tested and was shown to usually have higher VOC emissions that other types of solid or veneered cork. This is probably because of the adhesive used to hold the pieces together and fill gaps. I would stay away from parquet if you are worried about VOC levels.

Ask the retailer what the cork is finished with and how it's VOC levels compare to other products
