Do bamboo floors have to be finished or stained or can they be used as is?

RE: unfinished bamboo
You stain your bamboo floors only if you want to change their color. Whether you stain or not, you must use a layer of finish to protect the floors. Common bamboo finishes are urethane or water based.

Ah, I get it now. I didn't understand the different between finish and stain, but it makes more sense now. Thanks for helping.

RE: unfinished bamboo
Many bamboo floors come prefinished. There are some that are bought unfinished at which point they can be stained, if you would like. They must be finished with a water-based or urethane finish.
