Should I use a primer or sealant on my wood subfloor when installing linoleum?

RE: Should I use primer or sealant?
If it's new wood underlayment in good condition, I would say no.. (At least not that I've ever heard of.) However, you should always follow the recommendations of your floor's manufacturer. Usually you can simply trowel on the adhesive and roll the linoleum into it. The only time I've had to use a sealer under linoleum was on a relatively new concrete floor that repeatedly failed a moisture test and ph test.

Use a primer, not a sealant when installed over porous subfloors.

Thanks Scott and Robert. I decided to go without one.
