I am about to replace the tile in my kitchen with cork.  I have a tiny room that badly needs new flooring, so I am wondering if it is possible to save the tiles from my kitchen and reinstall them in my small room.  They are porcelain tiles, i think.

Thanks in advance for any help.

RE: safely pulling up tiles to relay them
Hello DIYer,

If enough of the tiles come up in one piece and you are able to scrape off most of the thinset stuck to the back of the tiles, then yes it can be done. Sometimes tile pops up intact, while other times it is stuck so well it comes up in small fragments. A word of caution, however, those small fragments will be razor sharp. So use leather gloves and handle with care!
