How do I properly prepare my subfloor to remove all bumps and imperfections?

RE: Prepare my subfloor
Make sure that all nails are set, use a good quality floor patch to fill any voids and nail holes and sand the floor. It is also a good idea to vaccum the floor and damp mop to remove all dust residue.
