I want to create a beautiful oasis in my bedroom. I picture ocean colors and designs but I want to do something that won’t be tacky or mismatched and will be somewhat easy to do myself. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!!!!!

RE: Bedroom Oasis
Pick an oasis color carpet for the flooring and do your decorating on the walls and with your furnishings. To get this pattern in your flooring you would have to hire a professional installer.

You might start with bamboo or a light finish hardwood and decorate up from there.

Have you considered cork for your “tropical oasis”? Consider it’s benefits before you rule it out….it’s environmentally safe, hypoallergenic, mite and mold resistant….the list goes on. I think you could use it to go with a natural look.

You could go with a tropical resort feel using colorful ceramic tiles. Another option is to use a light whitewashed wood or laminate flooring.

I like the idea of using cork too. Check out “burled cork”. I think it might give you the look you are going for
