What type of equipment should the carpet cleaner that I choose use?

Make sure they have van mounted steam cleaning machines

That makes sense. A van mounted machine would have more power than one that was not. Thanks for the insight.

The problems with dry cleaning are that the powder is never fully removed from the carpets, and can therefore cause stains when the carpets become damp or wet. It is also unable to remove the same dirt, allergens and oils and steam carpet cleaning.

Dry cleaning are not able to fresh and wash the carpeting. They cannot get rid of unwanted water and it will stay on your carpeting. It could bathe through to the carpeting support and this support should never be wet.
