There are many factors, but, assuming the floor is reasonably flat and tile-ready, and it is ceramic or porcelain tile, expect the labor to run $2.50 to $3 per square foot for quality work.

Ok. I got three quotes - 2 for $3 and 1 for $3.50. I want to work with quality people, so I'm not surprised that they are all high, but $3.50 is too much, like I thought. Thanks for your help.
