What is concrete made of? Are some concrete floors better than other in durability?

To answer part of your question - Concrete is usually made of Portland cement or other cementious mixture, aggregate, admixtures, and water. There are tons of factors that determine the durability including contents used in the mixture, installation methods, curing envorinment, and more.
