RE: compare cork to hardwood and bamboo
It really is hard to say as it depends on some many factors. Hardwood and bamboo can range from extremely dense and durable to not so durable. The same goes for cork. A main difference is that a dropped object may dent all three, but cork will normally return to its original shape after a couple of hours. If you would like to use cork I would say go for it! Just do your research and make sure you are buying a quality product.

Cork is rather soft. If you have dogs or drag furniture over the cork you can be sure it iwll show scraches.

Cork is durable and is remarkably resistant to wear due to its cellular structure.
