Hi everyone,

I am installing hardwood floors all throughout the home i just bought.  I want to install an underlayment underneath that will damped sounds so that I don't hear my kids in their rooms upstairs when i am in my bedroom or living room.  Any suggestions on what type O should use?  Thank you.

Cork and foam are very good underlayments for sound reduction.  Hope that help you!

Thanks for your help.  I went with a quality cork underlayment that my retailer suggested.  That link that you sent was very helpful.

You can use cork underlayment for sound proofing.
