Are there different types of coating applied to the surface of laminate that affects its wear resistance? If so what are they and how do they differ?

RE: laminate coatings
The wear layer may be impregnated with resins or aluminum oxide. More durable wear layers will have a higher AC rating. This is a system that measures resistance to scratches, burns, stains, and so on. 1 being the lowest 5 being the highest.
