Does tile have a porous surface that can hold moisture and debris?

RE: hold moisture and debris?
Generally, glazed tile has an impervious surface making it easy to clean and maintain. Some natural stone such as unfilled travertine has large pits throughout the tile which, unless grouted in, can hold debris.

An unglazed tile will stain easily and hold moisture.
