the hardwood should have no VOC, no formaldehyde, and be FSC certified.  You can find green hardwood flooring at Green Building Supply here www.greenbuildingsupply.com/Public...

Shaw also offers green engineered hardwood floors.  It's called Epic Hardwood with EnviroCore which, accoridng to Shaw, uses 50% less freshly harvested wood than other engineered hardwood floors.

Visit www.staybullflooring.com for recycled reclaimed solid hardwood flooring in both non FSC and FSC certified domestic and exotic hardwoods. This line is a 5" wide plank with longer than average industry lengths and non toxic glues and finishes for a custom and unique hardwood that none of your neighbors will have.

RE: greenest hardwood?
Hi,

Bamboo is the greenest hardwood amongst all types of hardwood.
A hardwood floor is made out of solid wood and a laminate is a product that is made using any of several materials and methods that has layer of material applied at the top of the surface and is made of highly density base.Laminate flooring is composed of four type of layers one of these is design layers which defines the look of floor which looks very natural.

Hope this can help you!!!
