Love this site!! I have a question - I drug some heavy furniture across my Berber carpet and it has what appears to be scorch marks in it where the legs slid like it was burned. What has happened to my carpet?

Berber carpet has the lowest flash point of any carpet, or floor covering in general. This means that it burns at a very low degrees of only 170°F. Changes are the fiction caused it to burn!

Dang, I didn't know that could happen.  I will have to be more careful in the future.  Luckily it's in a spot that is concealed by my entertainment center.  Is it dangerous to have this type of carpet?  Could I have started a fire or something?
