I had my wood floors which were installed in 1996, hand scaped, resanded and finished and now in only certain areas the floor is buckling and in one area it is pulling away from the subsurface. I have had a leak detection company test the water lines and we have no leaks in the plumbing. We have tested with a moisture meter and it does prove to have an above normal moisture level in the areas that are buckling.
Is it possible that when they redid the floors, the sealer does not allow the wood to breathe therefore causing humidity to be trapped under the wood?
