I refinished my hardwood floors and applied 3 coats of polyurethane.  I sanded between each coat.  Am I supposed to sand or buff the final coat as well.  What is the best way to finish this product? I was thinking of maybe renting a buffing machine and waxing.  Would that work?

Not sure where to go from here.  Thanx

RE: buff after final coat of poly?
Does the finish not look the way you wanted it? You DON'T sand the final coat, and buffing shouldn't be necessary either. Perhaps you used a matte or satin finish and you really wanted a semi gloss. If that is the case you can sand (lightly) the top coat and place one more coat of semi gloss. You can buff the floor, but I wouldn't wax it as this creates a continual maintenance nightmare. If this isnt what you were looking for, please let us know.
