What is happening to my lino?

Can water seep from your subfloor and change the color of your linoleum? I believe that is what is happening, but I thought that linoleum was water proof. Can someone explain?

yes, this is possible.  You need to remove the linoleum and get to the bottom of the problem, which is the moisture.
