I’m not sure where to start. I want to lay new flooring in my bedroom but I don’t want carpet again. My bedroom is below grade and I would like something that will not be cold underfoot.

RE: below grade bedroom
It sounds like you would be happy with wood or laminate flooring but check with the manufacturer to be sure it is suitable for a below grade installation. If you want tile or stone, you might want to consider installing radiant heat underlayment to warm the tiles.

Engineered hardwood can be used below grade under most normal conditions. Also floating floors such as laminates can be used.

Cork, bamboo or laminate would be a good choice but take precautions for moisture content in the floor you will be covering.

I appreciate everyone's suggestions.  I ended up going with laminate.
